Beyond the Funding Crisis: Reimagining Humanitarian Action

Humanitarian Observatory Initiative for South Asia welcomes the publication of the Global Humanitarian Assistance (GHA) Report 2026 and its timely commentary on funding gaps on the ground and what is next for humanitarian reform.

In this critical panel discussion, expert panelists along with relevant actors will discuss the structural transformation that the humanitarian sector is facing. As donor power becomes more dispersed and humanitarian needs continue to rise, the challenge is no longer only to mobilize resources, but to redesign the humanitarian system itself. What should the future architecture of humanitarian action look like? What should we shape differently, alternatively? What do we do that we have not done so far and that we don't fail at? The panel convenes experts to jointly reimagine the way forward.
