Observation and Humanitarianism, both concepts are rapidly changing in South Asia before we grasp them. The time has come to rethink who and what is humanitarian and why it is changing so rapidly. Time has also come to rethink what is observation, who observes, for what purpose, and what are the defining factors. It is in this context, HOISA has come up.
Humanitarian Observatories are coming together with a variety of actors to observe trends and processes in humanitarian governance. Supported by All India Disaster Mitigation Institute (AIDMI) and International Humanitarian Studies Association (IHSA) in the Netherlands, Humanitarian Observatory Initiative - South Asia (HOISA) hosts a series of virtual discussions that brings several actors, partners, stakeholders and experts together. Each of these conversations are recorded and documented and are then used to shape a growing resource and network within and outside South Asia to strengthen humanitarian actions.
